I went to a workshop where they were discussing this. they had the women make a list of everything that was unbecoming of males, and vice versa. (Guys were deemed: selfish, stubborn, insensitive, not compassionate, and not listening.)Then they listed them on a board and asked the males opinion on whether they agreed to those characteristics.(One bf said, "We are always listening! We just can't always figure it out!")

They said that girls are sensitive, scared of too many things, and give too much attention to their looks.(The girls rebuttal: "But you still look at the pretty girls!" And we get lost a lot.

in the end, it is about serving one another.

So now I am absolutely obsessed with hitting the random button to see what I get on wikipedia and flickr.





I've been learning all sorts of random facts, like:

egg custard pudding!

I wanted grilled cheese sandwiches, and ended up with a rather large loaf of bread (27 slices of bread?) and extra eggs and so found a new recipe to use up the ingredients. Being only one person I don't stock up on food b/c I'll never eat all of it, so whatev I buy, I have to have a plan to use it.

As I told Timon(who won't go to the store more than he must) "You can't stock up on perishables. Because they perish," (Cereal doesn't go bad fast. Bread and fruit do)

Ingredients:

* 4 eggs, slightly beaten
* 1/3 cup granulated sugar
* 1/4 teaspoon salt
* 1 teaspoon vanilla
* 3 cups milk, heated
* 7 slices white bread, crusts removed
* 1/2 t. cinnamon

Prep:
Cut bread in small pieces and put into baking dish. (I de-crusted mine, but it all turns to mush anyhow) Then whip up them eggs with vanilla, salt, cinammon,and sugar. Heat the milk right before simmering, then take it off the stove and stir in the egg mixture then pour it over the bread. and push the bread so its all soaked up. Bake this at 325 F with a pan of hot water on the lower rack for about 30 minutes, until the top is toasted.

Also, saw Toby, Jason Moy, and Toby's parents + plus aunt last night. We had Sichuan food(ma la!) it was delicious.

FebRUARY already?

so cute!!! Timon got me the wolf with the white hoodie. It's a Nici plush, super cute from germany and some have BELLY BUTTONS!!!



What is love? event at local mall. Minus the spot light, this picture was cool. The emcee was very dynamic. This was our valentine's day, and then Timon took me to a french restaurant for dinner and I got a little wolf in sheep's clothing! (and roses) While we were at the florist(yes he bought them on our way to dinner) my jaw dropped as they wrapped up a TON of roses in a huge bouquet, as huge as my arms in a circle. I said, "ASK THEM HOW MANY ROSES THAT IS! It must 100!" Duo shao ge??

it was 199 roses.

unbelievable. They were all perfectly bunched together like a circle made of roses. I looked at my 4 roses and told Timon I was thankful for my rose.

If I ever think i have "time", I don't. Time is thinking I'll have an opportunity to do something...but sometimes opportunities close themselves quickly.

Chinese New year!

Just to give you an idea of what new years is like....Your standing on your balcony, and then suddenly explosions fill your head and theres sparks flying at you as you try to escape. If your smart enough to be indoors, their still bouncing off the windows, like someone wielding(is that what is called?) in your face.

They are going off sporadically at 11:30ish, and become more and more frequent by midnight. Then it hits full blast, continual free flow of explosions and flying sparks, going strong for 30 minutes and then slowly dying out. and the next few nights and days you'll get a few. On teh 5th and 10th day its another barrage of fireworks and firecrackers. Don't expect to sleep much!
